The original version of this post recommended a social media account—purporting to serve the Somali community—that posts eyewitness video of ICE’s Minnesota occupation. Though not a traditional newsroom, my recommendation was based on the need for Americans to bear witness to the profiling, aggression, and lawlessness of DHS efforts. The account subsequently reposted an antisemitic take by a far-right conspiracy theorist. I can no longer recommend the account.
You want to stay up to date with trustworthy news coming out of Minnesota.
Below, I’ve compiled outlets and individuals documenting and contextualizing the federal government’s assault on The North Star State with links to their websites and social media presences. Follow them and get to spreading the information Americans need to see.
I’m including some social media accounts because eyewitness footage is important to the public interest at a time when we know the federal government is regularly lying to us about their enforcement actions.
But beware of AI deepfakes and other disinformation. Checking eyewitness accounts and videos against reporting from more established outlets is a healthy habit to adopt.
