The LOCAL Minnesota ICE Coverage You Need Right Now
On-the-ground reporting from established newsrooms and independent upstarts providing eyewitness footage and local context.
You want to stay up to date with trustworthy news coming out of Minnesota.
Below, I’ve compiled outlets and individuals documenting and contextualizing the federal government’s assault on The North Star State with links to their websites and social media presences. Follow them and get to spreading the information Americans need to see.
I’m including some social media accounts because eyewitness footage is important to the public interest at a time when we know the federal government is regularly lying to us about their enforcement actions.
But beware of AI deepfakes and other disinformation. Checking eyewitness accounts and videos against reporting from more established outlets is a healthy habit to adopt. Healthy media diets are sustained and enriched through rigorous information hygiene practices. See my guide for how to protect yourself from sharing and spreading disinformation here. Where possible, I provide links to “About” sections and provide context for lesser known sources.
I sift through the noise to provide the reporting and ideas that matter and point readers toward journalism that actually improves understanding. If this work makes staying informed or communicating with your MAGA loved ones easier for you, support it here.
Now, the news and eyewitness sources you should add to your media diet right now to stay on top of what’s happening in Minnesota.

Fox Television Studios owns this station, but local news stations often operate with journalistic independence from their parent companies (major caveat: Sinclair Broadcasting).

Trustworthy local newsrooms like MPR News can provide extra context on the viral videos we see, like the woman who was cut out of her seat belt after seemingly being caught up in a protest and dragged away by ICE. MPR News was able to inform the public that the woman was released hours later:

Somali Snaps
Ok, this one is wild. Somali Snaps appears to be a marketing company created to provide social media services to Somali-American businesses and otherwise engage the Somali diaspora. Now, they are simply posting every video they are sent of ICE aggression in Minnesota. Definitely double check the veracity of these videos as they are also posting random videos featuring the influencer I Show Speed (I still have no idea why he is famous).
