Millions To Die Because Of Trump Administration | Daily Dose, June 2, 2025
Fact-based, pro-democracy frames to flood the zone with nutritious facts.
We’ve all had that experience in the grocery aisle—do we choose the healthy option or the less healthy one? Our food comes with nutrition labels to help guide our decisions about what we consume. But when it comes to our media diets there are no labels. This is dangerous because the quality of our media consumption impacts the health of our society. Without any information nutrition labels our MAGA friends and colleagues end up feeding on a diet of toxic propaganda while everyone else does the best they can with highly processed news meant to go down easy. In this environment, the cancer of fascism metastisizes. The Daily Dose is an immune boost for the American mind that replaces the toxic option with key nutrients like Vitamin C(ontext) and Vitamin F(acts) to boost levels of Vitamin D(emocracy).
UPDATE: When new reporting comes in to confirm our healthy, fact-based frame I will append it to the top here.

People Are Already Dead From USAID Cuts, Millions More Needless Deaths Are Predicted, And The Trump Administration Is To Blame
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is an agency of the United States government, established in 1961, that has been responsible for administering civilian foreign aid and development assistance. Providing healthcare and food assistance around the world has built up incredible goodwill for the United States.
USAID’s destruction is part of the Trump administration’s propaganda campaign to win support for another wealth transfer to the .1% richest Americans via Trump’s next tax bill. By pretending to make significant cuts to programs that they claim don’t serve the public, Trump’s administration hopes Americans won’t notice as they make the poor poorer.
Marco Rubio took over the destruction of USAID from Elon Musk in February of this year. In March, Rubio told the public that 83 percent of the agency’s programs had been canceled. The Trump administration calls these cuts a good thing. They repeatedly referenced and misrepresented a handful of crazy sounding USAID programs to distract the MAGA base from the overall misery, death, and loss of global leadeship for which they are responsible. To maintain public support Rubio and Musk have been lying, saying that no one is dying because of the cuts.
It is emphatically true that the destruction of USAID has led to preventable deaths worldwide, especially among vulnerable populations such as children and those with HIV/AIDS, and will lead to millions more preventable deaths in just the next few years.

Studies by health groups showed that a lack of US funding for polio eradication efforts will likely lead to an additional 200,000 polio cases a year. Some 10.6 million cases of tuberculosis and 2.2 million deaths will not be prevented in the void of US foreign aid funding.
Projects that aimed to help prevent and contain future pandemics — which could directly impact American health and security — were also cut.
In Somalia and Nigeria, the termination of nutrition programs has led to a rise in child malnutrition and mortality.
Reductions in funding have compromised maternal health programs, leading to increased maternal and neonatal mortality rates.
PEPFAR, which provides testing services and treatment to prevent and treat HIV, is credited with saving some 25 million lives. Several major contracts were cut or shrunk down considerably. As a result, 20.6 million people, including almost 600,000 children, are no longer receiving HIV treatment that was previously funded by the US.
Journalists like Nicholas Kristof have reported on individual cases of children who have died as a direct result of the cuts. For instance, Kristof mentions Evan Anzoo, a 5-year-old boy who was born with H.I.V. in South Sudan. “Evan’s life was in our hands, and for five years America kept him alive with antiretroviral medicines costing less than 12 cents a day, through…PEPFAR…Then along came President Trump and his freeze on most humanitarian aid in January. How could a 5-year-old orphan possibly obtain medicine on his own? Evan weakened and soon died of an opportunistic infection.”

Over 60% of influencers do not fact check any information before sharing it and 1 out of every 5 U.S. adults gets their news and information from social media influencers. By highlighting pieces of disinformation that I find while doing my work I aim to remind you that you must remain ever-vigilant in an increasingly post-truth America.
I found this video from an influencer named Brenna Perez. She debunks the claim of another influencer, named Cole, that Bernie Sanders is responsible for the gross rumor that Kamala Harris slept her way to the top. Cole watched a selectively edited interview of Sanders conducted by a Trump supporting comedy podcast and took to the internet to tell everyone what he’d seen. Cole has 254k followers on TikTok. Perez has 191k Tiktok followers. It’s a long video but I share it to highlight that the world of non-MAGA influencing can suffer from all the same pitfalls we see on the MAGA right. Disinformers (those editing interviews to purposefully mislead) causing others to become misinformers (those who spread disinformation unknowingly because they saw something on the internet and believed it). Be safe out there and fact check everything!
